The Department of Information Systems at University of Münster with its research network ERCIS – European Research Center for Information Systems – is an international network of scientists who passionately conduct research at the intersection of management and technology. The Chair of Information Systems & Business Process Management (Prof. Dr. Jan vom Brocke) is an internationally recognized team that is continuously gaining insights into the use of innovative digital technologies in business and society. The Chair is committed to working at the forefront of research and significantly advances practice in addressing real world challenges through digital technologies. We are constantly publishing in leading journals such as Management Information Systems Quarterly (MISQ), Information Systems Research (ISR), Journal of Management Information Systems (JMIS), Management Science, and MIT Sloan Management Review (MIT SMR), and we enjoy an active dialogue with thought leaders from industry and society.

As a member of ERCIS, you will be part of an international network with connections in more than 30 countries in Europe and beyond. You will work with renowned companies that are pioneers in the field of digitalisation – as well as with smaller companies and start-ups that will become future champions in digital innovation and transformation. Within this ecosystem you will design innovative solutions for tomorrow's economy and society, discuss and evaluate them in practice and publish their results in leading journals. The work at the chair is characterised by a focus on understanding and designing processes using digital technologies. As a Postdoctoral Researcher you will actively shape our research programme, contribute your own interests and thus also develop your own academic profile at the chair for a successful academic career.

The Department of Information Systems, Chair of Information Systems & Business Process Management at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill one or more positions of a

Assistant Professor (non-tenure) in
Business Process Management
Akademische Rätin/Akademischer Rat auf Zeit
(salary level A 13 LBesO)

at the earliest possible date. We are offering a three-year, fixed-term full-time position with the option to extend by an additional three years. The prospective candidate is required to teach four hours per week during the semester (4 SWS).

Your tasks:

- Developing and conducting research in information systems and business process management
- Building a research profile with high visibility in academia and practice
- Publishing in leading journals
- Developing and implementing attractive teaching programs
- Establishing your own research group, especially through the acquisition of research funds
- Implementing your habilitation project

Our expectations:

- Higher education degree and completed doctorate in the field of economics, information systems, computer science or comparable
- Outstanding academic performance, e.g. proven by doctorate with distinction, publications, prizes or other
- High motivation to achieve ambitious goals in a high-performing team
- Sound knowledge and experience in research design, especially the planning and application of different research methods
- Strong interest in further deepening selected research methods as well as opening up new subject areas
- Ability to work in a team, mature communication skills, organizational skills as well as an independent and productive way of working
